William Ogden

Director of Operations

William Ogden BEM is the Director of Operations at Decibels, where he helps shape the organisation’s strategy, strengthen its operations, and grow enterprising activity that supports long-term sustainability. William works closely with teams, partners, and communities to ensure Decibels remains creative, accessible, and impactful.

At the heart of William’s work is a belief that all deaf and disabled communities should have equal access to the arts, education within the arts, and culture. He is passionate about creating environments where people are supported to develop their creativity, confidence, and voice, and where lived experience is valued as expertise.

Alongside his role at Decibels, William is a Trustee and Director of his local Citizens Advice, bringing expertise in governance, strategy, and inclusion, and supporting the organisation to better meet the needs of its community. He is also a Trustee of Deafblind UK, a charity close to his heart, as William is deaf and partially blind.

Having received a British Empire Medal (BEM) for his services to accessibility and education, William continues to be deeply committed to championing accessibility, participation, and meaningful change.
