We have been privileged to have had Mark, an experienced musician and workshop leader to run a series of workshops for learning disabilities in the Woodley area and surroundings. Participants have learnt how to use SoundBeam, an effective musical instrument tailored for special needs to allow them to experience a range of pitches and enable musical creativity. We went along to a few sessions and watched the participants created a short musical piece which was recorded on a CD for them to listen back to their creativity. This project is the first step for Decibels to empower and bring together those with a range of disabilities to enjoy music.
